NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Chapter 35A.63.220 of the Revised Code of Washington the Covington Planning Commission will hold an online public hearing for consideration of proposed amendments submitted to the City by Lakepointe Covington Inc to amend various sections of the Comprehensive Plan to increase the maximum housing and commercial square footage thresholds allowed within the Lakepointe Urban Village Subarea (e.g. allow up to 1,750 housing units and 1.32 million square feet of commercial development). Due to the Governor's Order and phased reopening in King County, Covington City Hall is closed, and public meetings are currently remote. The Planning Commission’s public hearing will take place online on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at 6:30 p.m.
The purpose of this public hearing is for the Planning Commission to receive comments from the public, both written and oral, regarding the proposed Comprehensive Plan amendments and Planned Action Ordinance amendments and to forward a recommendation to the City Council. The proposed Comprehensive Plan and Planned Action Ordinance amendments are a non-project proposal and will apply to development within the Lakepointe Urban Village Subarea. The Lakepointe Urban Village Subarea is located southeast of State Route 18 and its intersection with SE 256th Street, on the north side of Covington, and consists of Parcel No. 1922069041, 3022069001, 2022069152, 2922069162, 2022069012, and 3022069090 in Covington, King County, WA.
