City Seeking Applicants for Human Services Commission, Arts Commission, Youth Council, and Economic Development Council

The City of Covington is accepting applications to fill positions on the Arts Commission, Human Services Commission, Youth Council, and Economic Development Council.  

• The Arts Commission plans events like the annual student art show and city hall display artists. They also participate in selecting art for projects like utility boxes and parks, and participate in special events like Covington Days.  This commission meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. with occasional special meetings and workshops.

• The Human Services Commission consists of seven members appointed by the City Council and selected from individuals who have an interest in youth and family affairs, as evidenced by training, experience, interest or actions. This commission meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. with occasional special meetings and workshops.

• The Youth Council has ongoing openings for youth ages 15 to 18 who live within city limits or attend school in Covington and live within three miles of city limits. The Youth Council meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

• Covington Economic Development Council (CEDC) - Composed of twelve members. Five members shall be appointed by the City Council and five members shall be appointed by the Chamber Board of Directors. These ten members shall all be voting members.  CEDC meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. with occasional special meetings.

Applicants will receive confirmation that their application has been received and notified of their specific interview day and time.  Until further notice interviews will be conducted by telephone instead of in person.
