The City of Covington was allocated $5.91 million in ARPA funds. We want your help to prioritize investments.
The City of Covington was allocated $5.91 million by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA). The funds are intended to respond to the economic and public health impacts of COVID-19 and the impacts it has had on our community, residents, and businesses.
SURVEY COMING SOONARPA rules allow for expenditures under several broad categories, including:
- Support public health expenditures
- Address negative economic impacts of the pandemic
- Invest in water, sewer, stormwater, and broadband infrastructure
This means that the use of the funds is limited to be spent within these categories.
City Council will hold a public meeting to discuss the ARPA program on October 26 at 7 p.m. and then is scheduled to discuss initial expenditures on October 30 at 8 a.m. during their annual budget workshop.
